A security guard is a professional in charge of protecting property and people within a given environment. Their main functions include:

Through physical presence, patrols and surveillance, they discourage criminal actions or inappropriate behavior in the facilities.

They verify the identity of people and vehicles entering and leaving the facilities, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access.

Conduct regular patrols of the assigned area to detect suspicious activity, security risks or emergency situations.

Respond to security incidents and emergencies, such as fire or first aid, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.

They document all relevant observations, incidents or irregularities that occur during their shift.
